One thing for sure, even with all the content available for F2P player it’s just a taste if they like the game to invest in it and get the expansions. When I’m at a starting area maps and mentoring new players if they need help or answer questions they have. And one of the first thing I would ask if the person I’m talking to is on a F2P account. When it comes to chat restriction as A F2P I think Anet has the best model to ensure no gold sellers or trolls ruining the game for other, most people I know already know these restriction. It became clear to me than they were forcing f2p players to buy the game in a mean way and i simply backed away and spread the word about the misguided ways i encountered. Only way to chat was through guild and pvp zones but it bugged me how they made it so that whispers can not be responded to. First my guildmates which bought the game though i was joking, but than they saw the screenshots on how the game blocks f2p players whispers in agressive way, so much you will only get frustrated. There were numerous times when players asked me something in whisper, and guess what i could not respond.Īnd i would receive a warning on how i am being time limited on responding in chat, but the limitation would sometimes take up to 2 minutes to wear off. This game will never have the numbers Tera Online had simply becouse the restrictions are way too harsh, so much as i have not yet experienced anything similar in more than 15 years of online gaming. Auction house, mail, you name it, its all locked tight. Pvp did not seem that balanced as one player constantly killed entire team on my side or the other depending on the luck of which builds you had in your team.Īnd most importantly the restrictions. It is in many ways more moba-ish than mmorpg as progression towards gear is more for the looks than stats which i did not mind and unlocking stuff was fun anyhow.
